Today’s Post by Joe Farace
On April 29, I announced my now annual National Photo Month photo contest. The rules were simple: Your entry can be any kind of car photograph, including something you made at a show, Cars & Coffee or maybe even a motorsports event. The total number of entries were many more than last year with some people sending in more than one image; I never said it was limited, so you can think about that for next year. The contest was wide open to interpretation and the entries reflected this, making the judging by Mary Farace a challenge.
And the winner is… Jame Zartman from Grand Junction, Colorado for “Salt City” about which Jamie says, “Remember how some of the old western movies used to end on a photo and then fade into a painting? No matter how sharp a photo is, there is something about a photo painting that provides some artistic gravitas, so I have played with a few of late.” Our judge said that all of the entries were quite good but she liked this image because it was “funk-a-icious.”
The winner has been shipped a Lenspen DSLR Pro Kit, that contains everything needed to keep his camera lenses, viewfinders and filters clean. It includes an original LensPen for lenses, FilterKlear for filters and the smaller MicroPro, that’s specifically designed for cleaning viewfinders and tight corners that are harder to reach and clear of dust.
LensPen is a long-time sponsor of my sites and blogs and I would like to thank them for their continued support. They have kindly donated a few of these kits to be used as prizes in this photo contest and other contests during the year. Thanks to LensPen for their kind donation.
