No, the above image is not from Star Wars! Every night when I drive home from work I go through this village that has a bunch of lights up for the holiday season and told myself that I would have to get out and shoot them from the car. Here’s a shot that I made last year.
I made it with a remote triggered Canon EOS 7D that was mounted on a suction cup that was, in turn, placed on the sunroof of my car. The lens used was a (no longer available) Tamron SP AF 11-18mm F/4.5-5.6 Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) set at 11mm that was manually focused and shot using a 10 second shutter speed. Oh, I made sure the camera strap was hanging into the car just in case the suction mount did not hold… I was only driving about 40 kph (about 25 mph in the USA.)
