Today’s Post by Joe Farace
After the more than two feet plus of snow that was recently dumped on Parker, Colorado, It was gratifying to see nicer (albeit partially cloudy) weather for the Valentines Day edition of Cars & Coffee at the Vehicle Vault last Saturday. Despite the piles of snow around the edges of the lot, the impromptu was jam packed with all kinds of interesting cars, including a gaggle of modern pony cars including Mustangs, Camaros and a bunch of Challengers.
As always there was a hodge-podge of cars covering the entire automotive hobby from 4x4s to customs, to American Classics and hot rods to exotics including Aston Martins and Lamborghinis. As always at Cars & Coffee you get to hang out with one of the most diverse yet friendliest bunch of car enthusiasts you will find anywhere.
A special thank you goes out to some readers who turned out and hung out with me while I was making photographs with my new grab-it-and-go kit that includes an Olympus E-P3 with the inexpensive ($84.99) Olympus 9mm f/8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens. And while the 9mm f/8.0 Fisheye was an interesting choice and imminently pocketable, I’m nit sure it was the best all-around choice. I just ordered the 15mm f/8.0 Body Cap lens, even though DxO says it’s the worst lens they ever tested. You know I gotta test this for myself and if it it’s crap, I’ll let you know. For less than $590, I’m going to give it a shot. (PS that’s not me laying on the ground shooting the Lambo.)
The next Cars and Coffee @ Vehicle Vault is on March 12, 2016. Hope to see you there and I’ll be bringing the E-P3 with the 15mm f/8.0 Body Cap lens to see if it’s worth the big bucks I paid for it.
