National Photo Month Photo Contest

Today’s Post by Joe Farace

May was formerly known as National Photo Month but for some reason the photography industry in its headlong rush to promote YouTube stars and “influencers” stopped promoting this fact. I was born in May so I have a natural affinity towards National Photo Month and I’d like to thank all of this blog’s readers for their support over the years.

So in my little corner of the Internet, I’m celebrating National Photo Month by having a photo contest. The rules are simple: Your entry can be any kind of car photograph, including something you made at a show, Cars & Coffee or maybe even at a motorsports event. The contest is informal and wide open to your interpretation.

How I made this shoot: A Sunbeam Tiger drag racer. Why Not? The cars had a Shelby-equipped Ford V8 under the hood. Image was shot in the pits at Bandimere Speedway with a Canon EOS 50D with Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD lens (at 18mm) with an exposure of 1/500 sec at f.14 and ISO 400.

Just send me a link to a favorite car photo that you shot or, if you prefer, send an email with a JPEG image file attached to joefarace(at)gmail.com. You don’t have to worry about ownership because unlike some other photo contests all rights remain with the photographer, not me or this blog. They are your pictures and will remain so. With your permission, we’ll publish some of the photographs on this blog during the month.

At the end of the month, I’ll pick a winner(s) and showcase them in a special post. The prize is a Lenspen DSLR Pro Kit, that contains everything needed to keep your camera lenses, viewfinders and filters clean. It includes an original LensPen for your lenses, FilterKlear for filters and the smaller MicroPro, specifically designed for cleaning viewfinders and tight corners that are harder to reach and clear of dust.

If the photograph of the car happens to be your own car, there will be a special extra bonus in the prize package.

LensPen is a long-time sponsor of my sites and blogs and I would like to thank them for their continued support. They have kindly donated a few of these kits to be used as prizes in this photo contest and others during the year. Thanks to LensPen for their kind donation.
