Today’s Vlog by Joe Farace
In today’s video I’m back in my home office answering questions from the blog’s readers about vlogging, my beard and how my search for a JoeCar is going.
Technically, this new vlog starts out well but about one-third of the way in the focus drifts. Since I manually set the focus point, I don’t know how that happened. My apologies. Like YouTuber Kasey Sterne, I’m still looking for the perfect vlogging camera and based on my recent experience while reviewing cameras for Shutterbug, the Canon EOS Rebel SL3 might just be it. And for all those people who were asking about my beard, the photo at right shows what I looked like when I first started writing for Shutterbug 25 years ago.
The camera used for this vlog was a Panasonic Lumix GH4Â and G Vario 14-45mm f/33.5-4.5 lens. For audio I used the built-in mic instead of my audio-technica Pro 24-CM external shotgun mic for reasons I explain in more detail in the vlog. Hint: The folks at Batteries Plus love me.
Because of my continuing problems with this mic, I’m tempted to purchase a Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone because it doesn’t requite batteries or have an on-off switch.
